CETA Benefits

Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement; (CETA) is the Canada-Europeen trade agreement equivalent to the Canada-USA-Mexico agreement (NAFTA) and if the negotiations turn out successful Canada will have reached another milestone in the ultimate goal of being a global country.

In my earlier articles I have clearly stated that NAFTA will have negative consequences in the future for Canada because it losens our strategic control over our ressources. The positive side however is that it does make trade easier with the US, essentialy bringing more business to Canada. However my views upon CETA are a lot more positive that those about NAFTA because of the extra upside CETA brings; it globalizes Canada’s economy, even though Europe is having problems at the moment, over the long run Europe is a massive global market that still has a lot of potencial. As well a diversifying Canada’s portfolio acting as a coushion to any economic disaster that could occur.

While CETA (if it works out) will be quite beneficial to Canada, however the next step for us is to be establishing trade agreements (equivalent to NAFTA)with emerging markets such as China,Brasil, India and other countries that are projected to have high growths in the future, that will literally carry Canada up the stairs of prosperity.

Keystone Worst Move Canada Can Do

I am not an environmentalist, while most people (in the U.S) that disagree of the pipelines makings are probably are concerned about the environmental impact; I am more concerned of the massive amount of potential Canadian jobs that could be lost from this.

If you have not read my previous articles then you must know that I support the National Energy program brought on by Pierre Elliot Trudeau. The idea was for Canada to become self reliant in our oil needs because of sky rocketing prices in 1970′s. However Pierre was not elected for a third term, losing power to the Conservative Brian Mulroney who did the exact opposite and created NAFTA
with Reagan. Fast forward to the present and we are now just digging ourselves into a deeper hole than we already did, and are losing any chance that we have now of reversing the effects and start feeding the needs of all Canadians first with cheap oil.

Just as I am no environmentalist I am also no economist; however you don’t have to be a genius to know that when the population has more money in their pockets, they spend more, growing the economy and the country. That is one of the reasons for the “taxing the rich” debate, to tax or not to tax is the age old question of which would be more favorable. Although it seems to be the corner stone of almost every politician’s strategy, I feel this has been brought up so many times it has lost its potency with the population. Instead of looking for temporary ways in which we can expand our country’s growth, we need a long term plan to accumulate more cash. My answer to this problem is to get the government involved in the oil sands, by giving all of the oil rich land to one single Canadian oil company, then to have the majority of the oil refined IN Canada and sent in a pipeline to the east, effectively satisfying all of the country’s oil needs at a fixed low price. This will create more jobs in Canada, and the low oil price will give Canadians more money in their pockets. Any excess oil not used by Canada can be sold abroad, to powerful countries in which it would be wise to start a relationship with.

That’s my plan. Could it work? I don’t know, however how many plans proposed by politicians have actually worked out, answer: not many. Why, because the majority of them were too small, big problems are not solved with tiny solutions. My plan is different, and until we get the opportunity to try it, we’ll never know, if that’s what it takes for Canada to raise above and
beyond the rest of the world.

Why the U.S Will Never Be the Same Again

The events in the past few years will have an undoubtedly big effect on the future of the U.S, and now there is a lot talk of how they can get back up on their feet, while I do believe this is possible, I do not however believe that they will have the same status as they did years ago, obviously because of the many competitors that have recently arose, however there’s another sign, one that I feel proves my point that it will take awhile to recover.

I’m sure one would agree with me, if I said that the best thing about America is it’s ingenuity, the fact that it is the creator of the world’s greatest products and technologies; the Internet, nuclear bomb, light bulb, telephone, airplane… the list goes on and on. However during this recession, the
majority of the population does not have as much financial power compared to if they weren’t in a recession (including the government). This is bad news for the research sector of the country, as I have recently discovered, by a shocking article http://in.reuters.com/article/2011/09/30/idINIndia-59646120110930, for those who have notread it, it’s about the lack of funding towards Fermilab (an American research facility that collides protons and antiprotons). Although this is a very insignificant piece of information in all, it is a warning, that they cannot keep up anymore, and this is just one more industry they lost to another country. To make matters worse, U.S education is definitely not getting better, which will clearly not help future breakthroughs.

In my previous article, I stated that the U.S will probably have the same outcome as U.K did after WW2, in that they were significantly less powerful, yet recovered from it eventually. Making room for the next generation of economically powerful countries such as; China, Russia, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, ect.

Is it the End of the Western World?

From the looks of it some would say the future looks pretty bleak for north America and Europe; China taking over the car market, 2008 recession, financial problems in Greece, massive quantity of dept in the US,30% dropout rate in the USA… The list keeps going.
There are many solutions being thrown out, mostly to cut costs, and support small business, however there is not much of a long term plan as to how to actually start making serious money. In the past the majority of their income
came from manufacturing, cars, household products. Now I’m not even going to say what country they lost that too. Japan has innovating technologies, Canada has resources, most European countries are also in product production (better quality though for the most part), Dubai in tourism, ect.

So what’s the answer? I feel the US has almost the same fate of Great Britain; The British Empire pretty much fell because of the massive spending during WW2, from that date the
UK has recovered, however has lost much of its international power and influence
because of it. The same fate applies to the US; it’s slowing down and will soon have to retire its famous title to other emerging countries because of the hard falls they are facing at the moment.

This may mean a slowdown for the US, however I feel that Canada still has potential to rise
above and become a future international influence. As I said earlier, Canada has resources, a lot of resources; therefore we can guarantee our income for at least the next twenty years. If we use the profits from those resources to invest in more stable industries such as new technologies, experimentation, tourist attractions, and innovation, then there will be a seat reserved for Canada amongst other powerful nations.

In conclusion, Canada still has a chance to be a big player in the modern world, IF the government is smart enough to use our current income wisely (That’s where IPC comes in),
which means making some changes in creating a socialist government, where specific sectors can work at increasing Canadian profits to fund “real” projects to actually make Canada a better place to live in the future.

My Email to The Bank of Canada

Below is an email I sent to the Bank of Canada giving my opinion on the $20 bill. I had sugested that they replace the face of Queen Elizabeth, with that of Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Obviously they declined that, however I was wondering I you would like that change on the 20, and if not Pierre Trudeau then comment who you think would be fit for the bill.

Subject:My opinion of the new bills.

Dear Bank of CanadaI am sending this email to inform you that the new polymer currency notes that I have just been informed about, are probably the nicest bills I have ever seen, and have never been more proud to be Canadian. With that being said I urge you to reconsider the Queen of England being on our $20 bill. With all due respect, I know she is the Head of State, however I feel that there are more deserving people who are actually Canadian. Someone who I would like to see replacing the Queen on the 20 would be the 15th Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Elliot Trudeau, who in my opinion has done a lot more to benefit Canada. In any case I would be happy to see just about anyone’s face on the $20 bill as long as they are Canadian and have done something to benefit this great country.Respectfully-Nathan

When designing currency for a country I understand that it must be hard to choose one person to be on there (if any). How can you choose one person important enough to be on something that will be seen and circulated all through the country? Now as we already know, the queen of England “her majesty” is used on the majority of our currency because she is the head of state. As you’ll find out through my blog you will see that I am against the constitutional monarchy for a number of reasons and this is just another.

Let’s start off with the fact that the queen is not Canadian, she has never done anything for Canada (herself), and she costs Canada money when she and her family visit. We are, are own country, there are plenty of great people that changed the world somehow that Canada is proud to call its own. The 100 dollar bill is the nicest bill in my opinion for several reasons, Robert Borden is shown (who in my opinion is best suited for the $100 bill because of his views on reciprocity and played a major role in WW1). The second part of the bill I like is on the back demonstrating exploration with the satellites and the canoe.

If ever the government finally realizes that “her majesty” is unworthy of being on our currency, we would have to fill that space on many of our coins and the twenty dollar bill. Instead of replacing her with another (which would be hard because of the many deserving figures in today’s society ) My choice would be the 15th Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Elliot Trudeau , for a number of reasons, mainly for his devotion to keeping Canada together as a country during the
rioting Quebec separatists.

In all, currency is supposed to represent the country it belongs to because it is seen every day by those citizens, having something they can be proud of for what their country did. I feel the queen represents none of this; Canada has a lot to be proud of, so let’s show it off.

The Canadian 1 ounce silver maple leaf coin is undoubtedly the
nicest coin I have ever seen (even nicer than the US liberty in my opinion)It’s
simple, representative, and a classic icon of being Canadian.

Bring the Death Penalty Back to Canada

Posted by The Emperor in All posts on July 22, 2011 | Edit

This is a very controversial topic, especially in Canada because of the fact that it’s been permanently abolished. I however believe that this form of punishment has a part in the future of law because of the fact that it can very easily discourage crime from happening in the first place, and with a growing population, we are running out of room and money to build more prisons.

I have found some very convincing facts that should be taken into account before deciding if such a punishment should be carried out. In 2005 there were 150 thousand people in prison in Canada. In 2005 there were 192 correctional facilities in Canada. And it costs about 100 thousand dollars a
year for just one federal prisoner! I got all these facts from http://www.vcn.bc.ca/august10/politics/facts_stats.html
.

This in my opinion is extravagantly too much. A simple and fast solution, impose the death penalty. This in itself would discourage a large quantity of people from doing the crime in the first place. Second it would also eventually reduce the costs of keeping an X number of criminals that are serving a life sentence for an inexcusable crime such as murder, rape, drug trafficking, ect.

There is of course the question of “what if the offender is innocent”, now while I do believe that there should be such thing as the death penalty in Canada, it should have very strict regulations in that there has to be hard evidence against the defense. Of course this cannot stop all mistakes from happening, so unfortunately until we have a better way to reduce crime, we need to keep the harshest punishment known in modern, and fair society.

My Faith in Humanity Expressed In This Picture.

Posted by The Emperor in All posts, Other Countries on July 11, 2011 | Edit

Well let’s start with why I’m writing this in the first place, I am a Humanist, I have full confidence in humanity now and far in the future, I also have full confidence that some time far in the future we will all unite as a single powerful force. This is all very positive thinking considering so people are saying the end is near (I mean the actual believers, not the media hungry moneymakers on articles and movies).

This picture, is what starts out to be a straight line (on the left) and as it gradually makes its way to the middle then to the right, however in the middle it is interrupted and curves away into another direction towards the bottom right and eventualy makes its way back on a straight line and ends up on the right side of the page. Now you must be wondering what all this has to do with humans, well this line starts at the left in a straight line, heading to a checkpoint (the right side), (if you believe in the evolution theory) now ever since man started walking we’ve gone on a relatively straight path of advancements (such as fire, weapons, tools, shelter, health, ect) and grew, however at some point we’ve forgotten our place on earth and why we are here. And that is when we are at the middle of the picture and start to curve off to another destination. Now I think in the past we have corrected this and got on the right path, and as it shows the line gets back to its original destination and ends up where it was heading earlier to the “right” side. An example of this is when we used the monarchy type of government to rule a country such as in Europe, this of course was a way to keep the population in order, however as we can see from the French revolution during the 18th century the king and queen had taken advantage of the system and were not even aware of the problems facing France at the time, this is the best example of when such a government becomes useless and corrupt and is in need of replacing, to get back on the straight line heading to the right side of the page. Eventually the population took matters into their own hands and made France a republic where to this day France is a very productive and rich country, and are now completely on the right side of the picture heading in a straight line of success.

People always wonder what our place is on earth and for what reason humans are here, I think it depends on what religion or theory you believe, I am an atheist, and a humanist therefore I believe that ever since the monkeys that decided to stop climbing the trees and to get down and walk
(for whatever reason), we have differentiated ourselves from all other animals because after that humans started to get to(and now are) on the top of the animal kingdom, now that we are on top we have won (obviously of course) and have continued to win with inventions that surpass human capabilities. Therefore it is obvious (to me in any case) that our main goal as humans is to win and continue to surpass until we are the most powerful entities in the universe. This is of course is
thinking far in the future, however it is obvious that we won in the animal kingdom, so why stop there, let’s just keep going and becoming more efficient, stronger, smarter, and healthier, and we will see where it takes us.

The key to doing this, is the problem, because as I have been noticing that people are afraid of the future, why? Because it’s scary, it’s dangerous, and it seems as though we are fine just the way we are… CORRECTION! We all know that our population is growing and our resources are running out and everyone knows this so I’m not going to repeat this sentence, the solution is not however to continue our old ways of burning coal and oil (while it did work cheaply and efficiently for years) this has to change, and one of the best (and one of the only efficient alternatives) is nuclear power
(again; controversial, everybody knows so I will skip the propaganda). While nuclear power is not a permanent solution, we should still have more nuclear plants than we do because it would create a massive amount of excess energy that we could use to research hydrogen fusion (research it, it’s very interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusion_power#Advantages ) whatever the case may be, we still need to use such technologies, even though they are significantly more dangerous than burning coal.

This is where I think our society has veered off the straight path to the “right” side, and we now need to veer back. The answer to doing this is to embrace the new technologies, and work with the costs and potential dangers and to then to improve, so that in the near in the future none of this will pose a large threat. An example of this is after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster happened, Germany decided to completely take its reliance off nuclear energy by 2022. This is exactly the kind of ignorance I’m talking about; the reason for the reactor malfunction was not because of the earthquake but because of the tsunami’s flood knocked out the power. This is not a big problem for Germany because the majority of the land is situated inland and is covered by Belgium and France from any type of tsunami, so Japan’s disaster should have very little significance in the decision to keep the nuclear program in Germany. In any case this problem will be looked at and fixed in other reactors to hopefully eradicate any possibility of another nuclear disaster happening because of a flood.

In conclusion, we are pretty much in the middle of the page right now and have veered off at some point in history, because people refuse to accept newer technologies such as space exploration, nuclear energy, hydrogen fission, artificial intelligence, abortion, stem cell research and so much more to come. That reminds me, I did not explain what the bottom of the page’s significance is, it’s failure, crisis, death, anything bad that can happen in a societal problem, when the line veers off from its path, it’s headed for the bottom (FAILURE) and unless it change’s it’s ways it will not end up on the “right” (path to success). So we need to curve back on the right path and get back on the straight line, to do that we need to accept and fix the dangers of new technologies, just as our ancestors did. You may have noticed on The Catalyzed Omnipotence (the name of the logo of the Imperial Party of Canada) that there are a bunch of these lines, that is because I believe that
no matter how many times we veer off the “right” path and head to the bottom, we will always correct ourselves because humans have never gave and never will.

The Catalyzed Omnipotence

Canada Needs a New Oils Sands Policy, NOW!

Posted by The Emperor in All posts, Money, Oil Sands, Other Countries on July 8, 2011 | Edit

It is my belief that if all the oil in Canada were to be regulated
properly this could benefit the citizens of Canada and in turn could boost the
Canadian economy exponentially. However such a thing would anger all the oil
companies mining these oil sands as well as the Albertan government. The basic idea would be to regulate how to oil sands would be sold, the majority of which would be to the people in Canada (including the east) making a fixed low but competitive price for everyone in Canada would pay at the pump. Imagine how nice it would be to wake up in the morning knowing that with all the international conflicts going on you have the confidence to go to the gas station and not worry about how much it will cost. This would also be a huge blow to the American public because while they would be paying a freakish price (and would still be wondering if it’s going to go any higher)
while their Canadian neighbors are paying a flat stable price per barrel of oil.It would also make Canada a hot spot for manufacturing, because electricity would be cheap, operating costs would be very low for equipment to run, effectively making product “made in Canada” very cheap and competitive! Another benefit to his would be encouraging vacationing in Canada by car, by both Canadian and non Canadian tourists as it would be cheap to travel the country which in turn would encourage a lot more purchases of other products. And it’s not over yet, this would also let many Canadian’s save money; and with that extra money buy more products (cars, boats, food, ect).

Of course with every great idea comes a downside. Making such a policy would NOT be easy considering the guys who mine the oil sands would not make as much money as they would by selling abroad, and because this would displease the oil companies many politicians would oppose the idea too, making it very hard to pass such a thing.

However, I believe such a policy could be passed because it should not matter how much the politicians and companies scream their heads off, the real influence is the people of Canada, whatever they want goes, and I believe the people of Canada are smart enough to realize how much this would benefit them.

No more constitutional monarchy in Canada!

Posted by The Emperor in All posts, Monarchy, Other Countries on July 5, 2011 | Edit

In my blog, this is part of the founding principle; that Canada should no longer be part of the
constitutional monarchy. This is for a number of reasons as I explain below;

  • It is costing Canada too much money for protection, transportation,
place to stay, ect the estimated cost for will and kate to tour Canada is 1.2
million dollars, which is a colossal amount of money when they are not even
citizens nor are they going to do anything that will benefit Canada; the people
who will make Canada a better place (taxpayers) should be benefiting from this
    money.
  • Part of getting their Canadian citizenship Canadian
immigrants have to swear allegiance to the queen, this is a ridiculous injustice
because there are a percentage of Canadian citizens who themselves are not
loyal to the queen (I for one), so how can you forcefully make an immigrant
swear obedience to “her majesty”, when this is a democratic country
where you are supposedly have freedom of speech and thought. For those people who
    refuse Canadian citizenship
because of this I feel very sorry, angry,
and unable, to do anything about this atrocity.
  • The British monarchy has been the form of government for
hundreds of years and it is very well known that during the start of the 20th
century was the peak of the British Empire and with dominance of almost a
quarter of the world population at the time, and in that time undoubtedly took
advantage of thousands of people from around the world with slavery, unfair labor,
imperialism, racism and probably many more inhuman injustices. This is an
unforgivable part in history, and should have no place nor continue in a modern
society. The French, Portuguese, and Spanish empires (all of which have now
ended and are democratic countries) have also during the same period of time
done many injustices to many cultures, however these countries have taken an
end to a monarchial rule, thus leaving that dark part of history in the past. I
don’t really care what type of government the British, I do however care that
they for the time being they are representing Canada, a country that should be
all about freedom is being represented by a group with a blood stained past.

These are my three most powerful reasons for why Canada should not be a constitutional monarchy. I believe we should move forward and advance in society, part of that means
dropping dead weight and making room for new problems that arise, (trust me,
we’ve got plenty .

( I would like to thank http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15713403425&v=info for the great image, and I am thankful that there is a whole facebook page devoted to such a cause).
